The town of Hampden offers recreational in-town baseball to Hampden Residents, and school Choice kids sign ups will take place in January preceding each spring baseball season. Registration forms are available at the Hampden P&R Dept, or on the forms page .  The following Leagues/divisions are offered.

League Description: Recreational  & Competitive Baseball 

T-ball: 

Instructional Co-ed Baseball offered to Kindergarten and Pre-K (based on ability & with parental supervision / involvement) usually one session per week, starting in April through June until end of school year.  All sessions are designed to introduce the fundamentals of the game of baseball. T-ball Program can be managed at  any in-town ball field. T-ball Saturdays 9:00am (Instructional Soccer 8:00am)

Pinto League: 

Baseball offered to 1st & 2nd grade only, Co-ed League played with town of Wilbraham. Practice starts in April with a season opening in May through June until end of school year.  Practice 1-2 sessions per week. The league is combined Coach Pitch / Kid Pitch and is focused on introduction to the game of baseball.  There are no playoffs or standings and emphasis is really on Fun and Fundamentals. 10-12 game schedule based on number of teams involved.  Wilbraham Parks & Recreation will handle master schedule, field games, etc… League Rules on line @ Wilbraham Website during season. 

Suburban League:

Baseball offered to 3rd & 4th Grades, Co-ed league played with Wilbraham, Monson, East Longmeadow, Palmer.  Practice begins in April and season runs through June to end of school year.  Practice; 2 sessions per week, until games begin, 60ft Diamond at TWB has been developed for this league.  12-16 game schedule, based on number of league team. Playoffs begin at end of regular season, and are complete by July 4th.  All teams will participate in playoffs for Divisional champions.   

Suburban League :

Baseball offered to, 5th & 6th Grade or U13 eligible, Co-ed league. Teams participate in the Pee Wee Reese “C” division, which is considered the recreation division.  Away games are played in the greater Springfield area including Forest Park and Picknelly field. TWB and Memorial Park Diamonds are used for practice and home games.  Practice begins April, with 1 or 2 sessions per week, depending on field availability, Games begin end of April and run through June with playoffs ending by 4th of July. (16-20 game season)   JLS League handles schedule for League

Suburban League:

Baseball offered to Grades 7-9, or U15 eligible in the Sandy Koufax Division (12-14).  League is played with surrounding Cities and towns: Wilbraham, Longmeadow, East Longmeadow, Monson, Palmer, Ludlow, Granby, South Hadley, Ware.  Memorial Park Diamond Niccum Field is used for practice, usually twice a week and home games.  Practice begins in April, and regular season games through to 2nd week of July.  Playoffs begin mid-July, (20-24 game season).  Suburban Baseball league handles all league meetings, master schedule for league and games.   

Competitive Baseball 6-8, 8-10,10-12, 12-14

Competitive Baseball: is governed by the Wilbraham P&R Dept WPRD

Registration for the competitive teams  usually runs August -  early September Registration may be done by mail-in or at the Recreation Office.

Please contact the Parks & Recreation office for registration forms.Evaluations will be held in late September - early October and are included in the registration packet.

Evaluations result in some children not assigned to competitive teams and for developmental purposes are better suited for recreational play. Parents may register for recreational teams in Hampden in the spring.

Recreational and Competitive Softball is now offered through the Wilbraham Park & Recreation Department.

Hampden Wilbraham Spring Softball 

The Wilbraham Parks & Recreation Department offers a variety of options in the softball program for girls in kindergarten (or age 5 1/2) through grade 8. Most competitive teams are formed in the fall in order to allow them a jump-start on the upcoming spring season. The recreational softball program generally runs early April (weather permitting) through the end of June or early July depending on the league.
