Conservation Commission Meeting 01/17/2024

The conservation commission will hold its January meeting on the 17th. It will be in the Town House Auditorium and on zoom. We will  review  14 pole replacements from Coneco. This work will occur on Allen Street, Allen Place, Carmody, Samble Lane and Pinewood Rd. The other Coneco project will take place along Somers Rd, Mill Rd, Walnut, Old Coach, and Old Coach Circle. National Grid proposes some work on River Park Drive. The work will include replacement of poles P6 and P8 if needed.and selective tree trimming and removal. Also on our agenda is a review of two potential .building lots. Both lots contain land mapped under NHESP. (Natural Heritage for Endangered Species) We will review the NHESP  limitations regarding the lot on Scantic Rd. The other lot on Burleigh Rd has not yet filed. Glendale Solar LLC is last on the agenda. We are waiting to hear from Tighe and Bond regarding the progress of their review.  The status of the Wildlife Habitat Assessment, an addendum to the NOI, will be discussed. The audience will be given the opportunity to ask questions after any presentations from the solar company..
