1773 Boston Tea Party Participant's Grave in Hampden

At his grave in the Old Hampden Cemetery on Chapin Rd, Robert Sessions was commemorated with a grave marker by the Boston Tea Party Ships & Museum for his participation in the Boston Tea Party on December 16th, 1773.

Robert Sessions was born in Pomfret, Connecticut March 15th, 1752. He was one of 116 documented participants in the Boston Tea Party. He served in the Revolutionary Army and earned the rank of lieutenant. His account of the Tea Party was widely publicized, unfortunately, this manuscript is lost to history. He later died in Hampden, Massachusetts in 1836, which at the time was known as South Wilbraham. Robert Sessions was a prominent figure in town and held many offices.
