Veterans' Services

The Eastern Hampden County Veterans’ Services District is established in accordance with Massachusetts General Laws Chapters 115 and 471, Acts of 1972; as well as 108 CMR and Rules and Regulations of the U.S. Department of Veterans’ Affairs. The District provides veterans' services for the towns of East Longmeadow, Hampden and Wales. The Hampden representative to the Board of the Veterans' Services District is Kenneth Geromini. 

The new Veterans' Services Officer (VSO) in the Eastern Hampden District is Jason Burgener who began his tenure in July 2023.  He will be available in the Hampden Town House Auditorium on Wednesdays from 9:00 - 4:00 p.m.  (413) 640-0540

The VSO performs administrative and social welfare work by providing financial benefits, employment assistance, counseling and a variety of additional services to District veterans. The VSO is a confidential employee and is required to manage and protect highly sensitive information.
